Rooting for Growth - Spring Retreat

Portugal | March 14-20th | 2026

Yoga as a means to transcend suffering

How can we create a more peaceful world when our inner lives feel chaotic and overwhelmed?

This retreat is an invitation to pause and reconnect to what you want from this precious life with purpose, clarity and intention.

Within the slow rhythm of nature, and in good company, we will unravel our personal and collective blocks to growth and learn valuable practices to move into the next phase of our lives – rooted in self-awareness and compassion.

  • Perhaps you desire to be more engaged and connected but don’t have the time or capacity to extend yourself outwards.

  • You desire freedom but sense you’re not in control of your own life.

  • You’re overwhelmed by what’s happening in the world and feel powerless, enraged or dissociated as a result.

This retreat is an offering of time and space to remember the essence of our innate nature - not cogs in a machine, or puppets on a string - but interconnected beings with infinite potential for growth, change and freedom.

The Practices

The wisdom of these offerings are rooted in both Yoga traditions and Traditional Chinese Medicine. The retreat is held intentionally on the cusp of Spring when the potential for growth and change is abundant; evident in the beautiful surroundings of this hillside retreat.

Movement practices, meditation and discussions will be centered around the themes of:

  • Yoga as a means to increase our capacity for compassion

  • Sustainable self-care

  • Nervous system regulation

  • Maintaining clear boundaries

  • Aligning with life cycles to guide when to act and when to rest

  • Trauma response to overwhelm and fear

Who this is for

We will not all be arriving with the same emotional, physical, or mental resources, and there will be lots of space for you to dictate the flow of your week. This is for:

  • The overwhelmed and under-resourced

  • The fragile and fatigued

  • The joyful and resilient

  • The ones who want to do more, but don’t know how

  • The ones who crave connection not through like-mindedness, but through celebrating difference

The space

Bodhi Bhavan Retreat Centre is located on mountain Picota in southern Portugal, surrounded by more than 6 hectares of peaceful nature and mountain views.

With plentiful space to find peace in the land and gardens, this is a calm and powerful haven that holds space for self exploration and deep rest.

There are 8 beautifully simple, heated rooms with en-suite bathrooms. You can opt to share or have your own space. We will join together in the communal areas within the main house: eating in both indoor and outdoor dining rooms, relaxing in the comfort of the home’s living room, sitting around the pool and of course a lot of time in the beautiful yoga shala.

Less than half an hour away are the spectacular coastlines of both South and West Portugal for a day trip to the beach, and there are abundant walking routes from the retreat centre.

Why Spring?

Spring is a time for growth and movement. This phase dictates the motivation to live, grow and take action. Strength and flexibility are integral to the success of using this period to your advantage.

This retreat is designed to help you:

  • Reclaim your energy after the stillness of winter.

  • Identify what changes are needed — in your body, mind, and world.

  • Build capacity to take meaningful, sustainable action to improve your life and the life of your community.

About Becca

I’m an empath who has spent a lifetime questioning the dissonance between global violence and the consumerist bubble I live in.

Even as a young child I never found it easy to accept the contradictions of this life - the world didn’t make sense, and I didn’t know where I fit in. I’ve used all kinds of harmful strategies to numb my highly sensitive mind, dancing on the edge between life and death since as long as I can remember. But I was lucky, incredibly privileged and also worked hard to create more stability for my chaotic mind. Yoga has, and continues to be a lifeline for me, and my practice is continuously evolving.

My aim is to use my sensitivity as a superpower, not a hindrance, and dance between action and rest with skill and self-compassion. This is an offering of what I’ve learnt and an opening to be in community to share in your wisdom.

My educational background is enriched by Traditional Chinese Medicine, 5 Element Yoga, Yin and Vinyasa Flow. I will be drawing from these ancient practices, and integrating dance, silence, mindful walking and the art of doing sweet nothing into the week.

Affordability

Retreats are expensive and as such inaccessible for most. Rising costs are coinciding with rising tensions, greater levels of stress and uncertainty. With consideration of the current climate and my own limitations, I’m offering the following discounts. Please contact me to apply.

  • 10% discount on all bookings made before October 2025.

  • Low income - Sliding scale price, please get in touch

  • No income - If you can afford to cover the cost of food and accommodation I offer a Karma Yoga space. Please get in touch for details.

FAQs

  • All levels of ability are welcome. I offer plenty of options, spaces to rest and time to tap out of practices that are unsuitable. We all have different levels of ability, and this retreat will provide tools for you to find practices appropriate to you.

  • Payments

To secure your place a deposit of £500 is required. Full payment is due one-month prior to the start date of the retreat. I offer a payment plan to help spread the cost leading up to the start date of the retreat. Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss this.

    Cancellation & Refunds

6 months notice: full refund minus £70 admin fee

    3-6 months notice: 50% refund

Less than 3 months: No refund available unless you are able to fill your space with a friend!

I highly recommend purchasing travel insurance at the time of your booking so you are protected in the event you need to cancel with less than 75 days notice.

  • Food is a big part of this retreat, I take it seriously! There will be plenty of plant-based options catering for all tastes and dietary requirements.

Please get in touch if you have specific dietary needs.

  • Check in is Saturday 14th March at 16:30 and check out on the 20th at 12pm.

  • We can arrange for shared taxis from the airport at a rate of around €25 per person one way. If you'd like to make your own way there, and have freedom to roam when you're at the centre you can rent a hire car at a reasonable rate if you book in advance, or book your own private taxi.

  • Yes! Bring a friend! The cost of a shared room is 50% cheaper, so this is a great affordable way to come!

I encourage you to book in a time to talk in depth about the retreat to answer any questions you may have.
