Deep tissue massage is a therapeutic bodywork technique that targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to relieve chronic tension, reduce pain, and improve mobility. Unlike lighter relaxation massages, deep tissue uses slower strokes, firm pressure, and focused finger, thumb, forearm, or elbow techniques to access tight bands of muscle that restrict movement and cause discomfort.
What it addresses
Chronic muscle pain and tightness, especially in areas like the neck, shoulders, lower back, and hips
Restricted range of motion from scar tissue, repetitive strain, or postural imbalances
Muscle adhesions and myofascial restrictions that contribute to referred pain
Postural issues
For those who love the deeper sensation of a strong massage.

Shiatsu is a hands-on Japanese bodywork therapy that balances the body’s energy, relieves pain, reduces stress, and supports overall wellbeing. You will remain fully clothed client, and I’ll use gentle, sustained pressure with thumbs, palms, elbows, and sometimes knees, combined with gentle stretches and joint mobilisations.
The treatment follows meridian lines (energy pathways) to identify areas of imbalance and apply targeted techniques that release tension and restore flow.
What to expect
Assessment: A brief intake to understand your health history, current symptoms, and goals.
Treatment: You lie comfortably on a futon or massage table. I’ll use rhythmic pressure, kneading, rocking, and assisted stretches. Sessions can be calming and meditative or more invigorating depending on need.

Reduces muscular tension and chronic pain (back, neck, shoulders)
Improves circulation and joint mobility
Alleviates headaches and fatigue
Supports emotional release and greater mental clarity
