Acupressure Massage in Bristol
If you're carrying tension, chronic pain, or stress that won't shift, acupressure massage works differently to a standard treatment. It combines deep tissue massage with targeted acupressure points, joint mobilisation, and stretching techniques drawn from Traditional Chinese Medicine — addressing not just the symptom, but the pattern underneath it.
Sessions are available from my private home studio in Bishopston, Bristol. Each treatment is tailored to what you actually need, and begins with a detailed conversation to make sure we use the session well.
What is Acupressure Massage?
Acupressure is a hands-on therapy rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine. By applying gentle pressure to specific points along the body's meridian pathways, the treatment encourages the free flow of Qi (life force energy) — relieving tension, reducing pain, and restoring balance to the whole system.
Unlike a standard relaxation massage, acupressure works at a deeper level. It's particularly effective for people who feel like they've "tried everything" — where the pain or tension keeps returning no matter what.
What to Expect
Your session begins with a detailed discussion of your needs, health history, and what you're hoping to address. From there, the treatment is fully tailored — I might combine deep tissue massage with acupressure points, passive stretching, and joint mobilisation depending on what your body needs that day.
Sessions are available as 60 or 90 minutes. I recommend 90 minutes for a first treatment to allow time for the initial consultation and aftercare guidance, which includes therapeutic yoga stretches, or simple movement practices to incorporate into daily life.

FAQ
Where are you based in Bristol?
I work from a private home studio in Bishopston, Bristol — close to Horfield, Montpelier, and St Andrews. Full address is provided on booking.
Do I need to undress for an acupressure massage?
For acupressure massage, you'll typically be asked to undress to your underwear and will be covered with towels throughout. If you'd prefer a clothed treatment, Shiatsu is a good alternative — please get in touch and we can discuss what's right for you.
How many sessions will I need?
Many clients notice a significant difference after a single session. For chronic or long-standing conditions, a course of three to six treatments tends to give the best results. We'll discuss this together at your first appointment.
Is acupressure massage suitable for anxiety and stress?
Yes — acupressure is particularly effective for stress, anxiety, and the physical symptoms they create (tension, poor sleep, headaches). The treatment works on the nervous system as well as the muscles, making it deeply calming as well as physically therapeutic.
